Hello

July 26th. 7.15 pm Pacific Daylight Time.
Three hours behind Georgia time,  Eight hours behind English time and 10 hours behind Cyprus time.

Ken
Arrived at the fancy motel,  the Red Lion Hotel, in Olympia Washington.  Very nice but a little overpriced.

Most of the other planes and crews arrived today, only one more to arrive later or in the morning.  We were up and going early this morning
getting the Commander cleaned up and polished.  This was good as we had it done before it got hot.

Ben cleaned the wings and main body of the plane,  Tom did the nose gear and the spinner.  And I did the hard part, the belly.  Dale cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for the arriving crews, they were good as we were hungry.

Ben tried to order a cup of tea at Burger King this morning, and got some weird looks.   This afternoon we got N377SB fueled up for the first leg of the trip on Tuesday.
We can only carry 48 gallons due to weight restrictions. Tom and Ben are in the pool right now and I am doing some flight planning.

Yesterday was not too relaxing for me.  They both went surfing and I worked in the car on fixing the web page. After an hour I decided to walk to the beach to take some pictures for the web site.  All those darned surfers look the same, they all wear black,   I could not see Tom and Ben..  They all wear black suits and look the same from a distance.  So back to the car to work on the web site.  About that time an ambulance arrived with sirens going,  then another,  then another, then another.
A total of four, plus a sheriffs truck, the coast guard, the park police, the local police, a fire engine.

My first thought was "Oh $hit" so I went looking for them.        Every darned surfer looked the same.  So I went up and down the beach looking.
The officials were just standing there waiting for a body to wash ashore.  No one seemed to know what was going on.   I stayed close and listened until I heard that the victim was a female.  Later it turned out that a boat had capsized with five people on it.

It was a very scary hour for me.

After that I was back in the car calling our Web hosting company and trying to upload the update to the Web site.  One call after another to their support folks only produced tech's that could not speak English.  I got it almost sorted there in the car park and then ran low on battery so had to stop.  Back at the motel with a fresh charge I got it fixed.

I will give Tom and Ben the night off, no report from them as so little happened today.

If you wish to sent comments we have an email set up just for that.     N377SB@gmail.com

Not flying tomorrow so it is time for a  beer,

Ken

PS.  Paul,  would you like like Tom to give you a wake up call before he goes to bed. I think we are 10 hours apart, in Alaska it will be another.

Ben.
Not much happening today. We got an early start as we needed to clean the plane before it got hot.. As we where cleaning the plane the rest of the group arrived in there planes, 5 of them all being in formation. Following this the whole group headed into Dales very nice hanger for some burgers and also to socialise. During this time Me and Tom had a few games of pool. After a short while we headed back to check out in at a different hotel. Once we had arrived and some of the other group had Me and Tom went for a dip in the pool. Now we are all just sat around relaxing.
Ben.

Tom
Not much to report today. Got to the plane and cleaned it up and she looks a beauty now. As we were cleaning the rest of the other Commanders came in and then we went and looked around the planes and met up with everyone and then had some lunch at the hanger. We came back to the hotel and just went in the pool now just relaxing.
Tom

The Commanders after arrival,   all fine looking machines.

And more on the other side.  There will be ten in all plus Dale's plane.

Nice  Lobby,

The Room,    A step up from the "Motel-6" but hard to tell the difference when asleep.  They could learn a thing or two from the Mayfair.
