Plane Wash and Clean Day.
Saturday 13th Jan. Plane Wash.
We had a very good plane wash on Saturday, WH got a really good clean up, belly still needs a little attention.
replaced a few missing screws and Jesse cleaned up the inside.
73307 was given a quick wash as Scott was waiting to use her.
73295 was cranked up and run for twenty minutes to get the oil up to operating temperature. She started right away.
All the bird droppings were cleaned off and she was given a good bath.
Thanks to those who showed up and worked hard.

We did a great job Saturday fixing the planes. New tire on 307 and we got the panel lights working.
We tested the spare radio that we have and it was ok, just need the paperwork to be able to install it in 307.
We may have to get the radio shop to do it, I will check with Ron.
The belly on WH was disgusting, thanks to Stu's grandkids we got her clean.
Hal enjoying the A/C while working in N73307
Ted cranked up 73295 and ran it up to operating temperature, we boiled off the moisture in the oil and she ran fine.
After a good clean, she was covered in pigion crap, she was put away again.

During the regular club meeting Ron showed us how to change a tire on N37703, A new one was installed on the left side. The right main will be good for another couple of hundred landings, if we avoid landing of the flat spot. Landing with the brakes on does reduce the life of a tire.
Saturday April 8th.2006.
N73307 was given a good clean. She was in terrible condition due the pigeon population roosting above where she was parked in the hangar. Piedmont also cleaned out the hangar with a leaf blower, they did not actually clean the hangar, and they just relocated all the dirt onto the aircraft.
The paint job on 307 is in excellent shape and she looks really good. An aircraft we should be proud of. The wheels and brake area need going over with a toothbrush to get in those hard to reach areas.
Thanks to all those that showed up.
Ken.
